These women truly care about the kids. They've helped with potty training, managing peer conflicts, learning emotional regulation skills and more. Great place!

Frequently asked

Common questions, honest answers.

What are the child-to-teacher ratios at Widefield Child Care?

Colorado licensing sets maximum ratios by age, and we follow them: 1:8 for preschool and 1:15 for school-age (5 years and up). We staff to these ratios at all times, and state inspectors check during unannounced visits.

Do you provide snacks, and are they included in tuition?

We provide an afternoon snack, included in tuition. If your child has food allergies or dietary restrictions, fill out the form during enrollment, and we'll accommodate or ask you to send food from home depending on the severity.

Do you offer part-time or drop-in care?

We prioritize full-time enrollment because it's easier to staff and plan for. Part-time spots (2 or 3 days per week) are sometimes available, but you'll pay a higher daily rate than full-time families. Drop-in care is rare and usually only available during school breaks if there's space. If you need flexible care, ask during your tour—it varies by current enrollment.

Do you provide transportation to and from elementary schools?

Yes, for before and after school care. We transport to Talbott Elementary only. We use vans with licensed drivers and follow Colorado's child restraint laws. If your child attends a different school, you'll need to handle drop-off and pick-up yourself.

What are your hours and what holidays are you closed?

We're open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We're closed on major federal holidays. Tuition is the same every month regardless of holidays or closures. You'll get a full holiday schedule during enrollment.

What is your sick policy?

Kids need to stay home if they have a fever (100.4°F or higher), vomiting, diarrhea, undiagnosed rash, or contagious illness like pink eye or strep throat. They can return once they've been fever-free for 24 hours without medication, or after starting antibiotics for 24 hours if it's bacterial. We'll call you to pick up if your child develops symptoms during the day. Colorado licensing requires us to follow these rules, and we don't make exceptions.
