How the work goes
Taking The Steps Necessary To Prepare Your Child For Preschool
  • Kindergarten readiness curriculum—early literacy, math, writing, problem-solving
  • Small group instruction and differentiated learning
  • Observational assessments tracking progress toward kindergarten benchmarks
  • Coordination with District 3 kindergarten enrollment
  • Snack included with tuition
  • Structured daily schedule with morning meeting, centers, and outdoor play

Pre-K curriculum is kindergarten prep. Kids work on letter recognition, phonics, sight words, counting, simple addition and subtraction, writing their full name, cutting with scissors, and following classroom routines independently. We use assessments—not tests, observational checklists—to track progress and share results with families. Many of our Pre-K graduates test above kindergarten entry benchmarks when they start school.

Classrooms run on a structured schedule. Morning meeting, centers time, small group instruction, outdoor play, lunch, rest or quiet time, and afternoon projects. Teachers differentiate—kids who are reading get chapter books, kids still learning letters get more phonics practice. We also teach executive function skills: sitting for a lesson, raising your hand, transitioning between activities, and managing frustration when something is hard.

We prepare for kindergarten.

We coordinate with local elementary schools. If your child is enrolling in District 3, we're familiar with their kindergarten expectations and registration timelines. We'll help you navigate the enrollment process and make sure your child is ready for the transition. Some families do kindergarten tours in the spring, and we support that.

Pre-K runs Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., same as our other programs. We're closed on major federal holidays. Snack is included in tuition. We accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions—just let us know during enrollment.
